Experiential Learning for Students

There are SO many cool things happening in the world!

Things not visible from most classrooms, like…

Engineers designing heart-racing waterslides.

Conservationists protecting species at risk.

Journalists covering breaking stories.

Spark Excitement

Experiential learning sparks student excitement and improves learning retention. When students are mentored by outside experts, they can also envision a broader range of possibilities for their own future.

I partner with non-profits and businesses to create experiential learning for grade 1-12 students.

Programs I’ve helped bring to life include:

Invasive Species BioBlitz

This two-week program engages grade 7-8 students to identify and manage invasive plant species in their own school yard! The program, a collaboration between Thames Talbot Land Trust and the Thames Valley District School Board.

Plan a Foot Golf Fundraiser

This full day experience is for students in the Specialist High Skills Major program. Grade 11 and 12 students learn (and practice!) the ABCs of fundraising and event planning with industry experts at East Park Golf Gardens. Then, they play a round of foot golf!
